Can Tho City will host Vietnam’s 4th international airport. Inaugurated January 1st, the new airport is said to have a runway large enough to accommodate long-haul aircraft like Boeing 747 and 777s with a terminal designed to receive up to 5 million passengers annually. Can Tho is located in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam, 75 miles southwest of Ho Chi Minh City. Its 3-letter city code is VCA.
The fresh-from-the-box terminal opens up many new possibilities for travelers coming in and out of Vietnam and Southeast Asia. While the new airport is not currently included in the AirTreks TripPlanner it can be added to any around-the-world or multi-stop itinerary. Just tell your Travel Consultant and they’ll be happy to make it a part of your quote. Think about it as a great choice to continue your trip after traveling overland from Ho Chi Minh City.
