In this issue… (The
New 7 Wonders of the World)
AirTreks has announced a special air ticket that will provide world
travelers the opportunity to easily visit the locations of the New 7 Wonders of
the World. More than 2,000 years after ancient Greeks branded the Seven
Wonders, 100 million people from around the globe have voted to re-establish a
fresh seven, which represent global heritage throughout our history. Unfortunately,
only seven could be chosen out of the near 200 that were on the list back in
2005, but the fascination of all other finalists are deserving of equal praise.
To visit some of the most important human-made landmarks of
our time the following ‘Wonders’ will bring past centuries up close to the
curious admirer:
The Great Wall of China
Hundreds of years of
laborious construction for the longest running human-made structure (over 4,000
miles from east to west), the Great Wall stood to protect many dynasties from
countless invasions.
The Taj Mahal, India
Agra’s Taj Mahal – a memorial to
immortal love – was built by a 17th century Mogul Emperor for his
wife who died during childbirth. The white marble-domed mausoleum combines
Indian, Islamic, Persian and Turkish styles.
Petra, Jordan
Built on a terrace
around the Valley of Moses (Wadi Musa), this ancient Jordanian city was the
capital of the Arab kingdom of the Nabataeans, and is well-known for water
tunnels and stone structures carved in the rock, including the ‘Monastery’.
The Colosseum, Italy
Rome’s 50,000 seat
amphitheater was the place where thousands of gladiators dueled to their deaths
while anxious fans looked on.
Christ the Redeemer, Brazil
Overlooking Rio de
Janeiro from atop Mount Corcovado the 125-foot tall statue has become an
important symbol of Rio and Brazil.
Machu Picchu, Peru
Just over 300 miles
from Lima, the ‘Lost City of the Incan Empire’ known as Machu Picchu, rests
high in the clouds over lush green valleys in the Andes Mountains.
Chichen Itza, Mexico
Built according to
the solar calendar this step pyramid was part of a sacred site in an important
Mayan center on Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula. The fall and spring equinoxes are
said to bring shadows that look like a snake crawling down the steps from the
carved serpent at the top.
The routing allows
the traveler to fly from Los Angeles or New York across the Pacific to Beijing then
on to Delhi, Amman and Rome, before crossing the Atlantic to Rio de
Janeiro. From there the route takes one
to Cusco, Cancun, and back to Los Angeles or New York.
The current airfare cost for visiting the New Wonders is $3,777 plus
taxes, and the traveler will be allowed to take as little time as three weeks and
up to a maximum of one year to complete this around-the-world journey.

this adventure, travelers can plan, price and book their around-the-world and
