Going on now through Sunday in Corte Madera, California is the 18th Annual Book Passage Travel Writers & Photographers Conference, a great event which AirTreks is proud to sponsor. For four days, August 13th – 16th, Book Passage bookstore will once again host this year's edition.

The conference offers an array of workshops, panel discussions and activities bringing together students and faculty in a low-key bookstore setting, one that encourages interaction between established and up-and-coming travel industry writers and photographers.

Notable chairs this year include Donald George, travel writer and editor from the San Francisco Chronicle, Salon.com and Lonely Planet, and Robert Holmes, Two-time winner of Travel Photographer of the Year from the Society of American Travel Writers.

There are no less than 30 faculty members this year with speaking engagements over the course of the conference, many of whom were featured or reside at such notable publications as the New York Times Travel Section, the Los Angeles Times, National Geographic Adventure, Outside Magazine, Smithsonian and more.
