A Bridge-Lover’s Round the World Trip
In his Jan 14 post, travel blogger Keith Jenkins from Velvet Escape listed a series of “10 Incredible Bridge Walks” around the world. Since I’m an admitted RTW-ophile, I couldn’t help but envision the bridges as a theme trip. These beautiful open-to-pedestrians bridges, when assembled in a series, would make one amazing round the world trip, and not necessarily just for bridge enthusiasts.
For continuity, I took the liberty of adding in a crazy bridge in Singapore that would fill in the South East Asia gap nicely.
So, starting in New York City here is Keith’s bridge-lover’s around the world trip. Check out his original post for lovely pictures of these bridges.
When Charles Darwin boarded Robert FitzRoy’s HMS Beagle in 1831 he had no idea he’d be permanently changing the course of human knowledge. Merely interested in documenting his passion for nature, Darwin arrived at the Galapagos Island chain four years later, finding the weather-worn volcanic cones, an indigenous people and a unique variety of animal species to be found nowhere else on Earth. What he saw in his 5 weeks there would end up critically changing the way people view all of the world’s creatures. This would come to be great news for future evolutionists!
Following up last week’s Destination Tuesday, this week we take you down the tracks (or foot path if that’s your way) to Machu Picchu.
Destination Tuesday.
