Your Passport Name – The Final Word

When you purchase a multi-stop or around the world ticket from AirTreks you get the benefit of some added securities along with your ticket. Of those, one being the most cost-effective itinerary for your money, great counseling and solid customer service to help you once you’re on your way. Not to mention [shameless plug coming] bragging rights that you’ve used the #1 service in the industry for this type of trip.

One common obstacle to a hassle-free trip however is not providing us with traveler names as they appear on your passport. This happens more than I’d like to mention, but is also the most easily avoided. Every sales consultant at AirTreks goes through rigorous lengths to keep up with the most accurate info but it inevitably starts with the traveler. If the sales consultant isn’t given the correct information, there’s nothing they can do.

The staff asks that when you submit your trip or talk to an agent over the phone, please give your name exactly as it appears on your current valid passport, even before any nicknames. If you’re not sure if you’re William or William Carlos or simply Bill Williams, a quick check in the passport should clear it up. The name is, simply stated, the easiest problem to fix before issuing the tickets but the hardest to fix after.

Here’s the verbiage from our outgoing emails:

Please make sure we have the first, middle, and last names of all passengers traveling spelled exactly as they appear on your passports. Due to new TSA regulations, the name on your tickets must exactly match your name as it appears on your passport. Failure to do so may result in you not being able to travel on the tickets you purchase. Names cannot be changed once tickets have been issued.

The TSA (Transportation Security Administration) instituted their requirement earlier this year, which will keep a misnamed ticket from passing through airport security. But it’s unlikely you’ll get that far if you have an incorrect name.

When inquiring about trip please double check your passport for your right name, first, middle and last. Our customer service staff, not to mention your future traveling self, will thank you from the bottom of their respective hearts.

Happy Traveling!
